International Exchanges
Every year, selected cadets, who meet the necessary criteria, can participate on international exchange trips. The trips are usually 2-3 weeks long and are paid for by the federal government.
Countries typically open to sea cadets for international exchanges include:
- Australia;
- Bermuda;
- Hong Kong;
- Japan;
- Netherlands;
- Russia
- South Korea;
- Sweden;
- United Kingdom; and
- United States.
Exchange cadets are selected on their high standards in performance, fitness and involvement in cadet activities. In turn, Canada hosts approximately 90 cadets exchange countries.
