Corps History

354 RCSCC Invincible was initially formed as a satellite division of 102 RCSCC Fraser in September of 2007 largely through the efforts of Commanding Officer Lt(N) Ron Juliusson. It became a corps of its own upon reaching 30 cadets in December 2009 and had its stand-up parade on January 31st of 2010.

The corps Latin motto is “Sequimini Optima”, which in English means “Aim to be the Best”. The ship’s crest consists of a golden trident within the navy coronet, both of which are symbolic of the power of the British Navy.

RCSCC Invincible is named after a line of British warships, the most recent one being the Invincible-class aircraft carrier HMS Invincible which was the first of three Invincible class carriers in service with the Royal Navy. The divisions of the ship’s company have also been named after warships:

Albion Division – named after HMS Albion

Ark Royal Division – named after HMS Ark Royal

Illustrious Division – named after HMS Illustrious

Thunder Division – named after HMCS Thunder

Warrior Division named after HMCS Warrior
